Govt to file defence in Pulau Batu Puteh claim by Oct 8

Legal advisor Mohaji Selamat, who showed up for the offended party, Mohd Hatta Sanuri, didn’t have a problem with the application for the expansion of time.

Erma said the adjudicator has fixed another case the board on Oct 29.

Hatta, who documented the suit on May 28, has named the executive and government as litigants.

The public authority early this month recorded an application requesting more opportunity to present its guard subsequent to getting the writ and explanation of case from Hatta’s legal counselors.

In the assertion, Hatta guaranteed the public authority had not given a clarification on why it pulled out the application in spite of new proof that supported Malaysia over the domain of the island, which is a large portion of the size of a football field.

He is looking for, among others, for the respondents to give a clarification for the withdrawal and for a presentation that they had been careless and abused the trust put on them by residents.

Hatta needs the respondents to pay a base RM10 million in remuneration to every Malaysian for the deficiency of the island, otherwise called Pedra Branca.
